Biological Science Writer

Are you a biology teacher looking for summer work?

Do you have experience writing about biological concepts?

SquidBooks is accepting applications for a biological science writer. The candidate will write on life science topics closely connected to his or her expertise, such as evolution, ecosystems, heredity, botany, or anatomy and physiology. The position requires a graduate degree in biological sciences or evidence of at least 15 graduate credits in biological sciences.
The ideal candidate has a history of teaching biological sciences or scientific writing. If the candidate has a teaching background, we prefer those who have taught for at least five years in college, secondary, or middle schools. If the candidate has a background in scientific writing, textbook writing experience is preferred, but other forms of biological writing (e.g., curriculum, grants, technical documents) will be considered.
The candidate must be available to work beginning in the summer of 2017 for 20-40 hours per week. The work will be fulfilled from a home office or virtual environment. Compensation will be provided upon completion of milestones (e.g., first draft, final product). A productive writer could earn between $10,000 and $15,000 over the summer and early fall.
